How to Use the Job Description Scraper

You don't need to copy-paste a job description manually. Just paste the URL of any job posting into the text box and Pronto fetches the content automatically.

How it works

The job description field is smart — it accepts both text and URLs:

  1. Find the job listing on any job board
  2. Copy the URL from your browser's address bar
  3. Paste it directly into the job description text box (the same box where you'd paste the JD text)
  4. Pronto detects the URL automatically and starts fetching the job content — no button to click
  5. In a few seconds, the full job description fills in

Supported job boards

The scraper works with most major job sites, including:

  • LinkedIn Jobs
  • Indeed
  • Greenhouse
  • Lever
  • Workday
  • Ashby
  • SmartRecruiters
  • Most company career pages

If scraping fails

Some job boards block automated fetching. If the field stays empty or shows an error:

  1. Open the job listing in your browser
  2. Select all the text on the page and copy it
  3. Paste the text directly into the job description box

This always works regardless of the site.

Tips

  • Use the direct link to the job posting — not a search results page
  • Make sure the listing is still live (expired postings won't load)
  • If the auto-fetch doesn't trigger, try clicking outside the field and back in, or just paste the text manually
