What Are Voice Profiles?

Voice Profiles let you define your writing style so that AI-generated content — cover letters, emails, and assistant responses — sounds like you, not a generic AI.

Why it matters

Without a voice profile, AI tends to produce safe, polished-but-bland writing. With one, the output reflects your actual tone: whether you're direct and no-nonsense, warm and conversational, or somewhere in between.

Setting up your voice profile

  1. Go to Settings or click the Voice Profile button in the Cover Letter or Assistant page
  2. Click Create Profile
  3. Give it a name (e.g., "Default", "Formal", "Startup tone")
  4. Describe your writing style in a few sentences — or paste a sample of your own writing
  5. Save the profile

Example style descriptions:

  • "Direct and confident. No fluff. I cut to the point and back up claims with numbers."
  • "Warm but professional. I like to open with a human moment before getting into credentials."
  • "Formal and polished. I write for senior stakeholders and keep things concise and structured."

Multiple profiles

You can create multiple voice profiles for different situations:

  • One for corporate / traditional companies
  • One for startups / casual companies
  • One for creative industries

Switch between them before generating content.

Setting a default

Mark any profile as your default and it will be used automatically for all AI generation.

Editing profiles

Click on any saved profile to update it. Changes take effect immediately for new content — existing generated content is not affected.
