What File Formats Does Pronto Support?
Accepted resume formats
Pronto accepts resumes in the following formats:
- PDF (.pdf) — recommended for the cleanest parsing
- Word (.docx) — fully supported
Tips for best results
- Use a standard single-column layout for the most accurate parsing. Multi-column or heavily designed resumes (infographic-style) may not parse perfectly.
- If your resume uses tables or text boxes, convert to a simple format first.
- Make sure your PDF has selectable text (not a scanned image). If you can highlight text in your PDF, it's selectable.
What about LinkedIn?
You can import your experience from LinkedIn by uploading your LinkedIn data export or using the LinkedIn import option in the dashboard. This gives Pronto your work history without needing a formatted resume.
File size limit
Files up to 10MB are supported. Most resumes are well under 1MB, so this shouldn't be an issue.

If your resume isn't parsing correctly, try:
- Saving it as a new PDF from Word or Google Docs
- Removing complex formatting (tables, columns, text boxes)
